The Envision team of Bristol students have been featured in the University of the West of England UWE News! The article (here) is in recognition of the amazing work they have done with Oodles to help launch the Oodles Charity Credits mobile app in Bristol and the South West. Cameron, Ed, Dean, Jamie and Perry, are all final year students on the ITMB Information Practitioner course. They have been working with Oodles since October 2016, as part of the Community Action Knowledge Exchange, a program providing charities and social ventures with technical expertise in exchange for real world experience.
An explanation of the joint project and an introduction to the Envision team can be found on a previous post, University of West England working with oodles.
Speaking of the collaboration and the CAKE program in general, Dr Hisham Ihshaish, the course module tutor, said “Congratulations to team Envision on a very successful project, it’s testament to their professionalism and endeavor that UWE Bristol has been listed as a collaborator for the Oodles App. This module really helps students to prepare for the real world, it’s essential to give them the space to practice their skills working to an external client brief. Working for charities and social enterprises engenders pride in our students and the Cake initiative enables them to see the value and impact of their work.”
The team has been an invaluable resource in the development of the Oodles Charity Credits mobile app, taking responsibility for Project Management, Graphical User Interface Design, Functional Testing, and much more. So a huge thank you for your hard work, from everyone here at Oodles!
…And Good Luck!
Having completed the project and submitted their dissertations, the students are now going though their final exams. Good luck, we’re rooting for you! We know you have fantastic careers ahead of you.
